Pupils' Exams Teachers' Stress

When pupils take their examinations, their teachers feel stress. Why? Some reasons are:
1)Teachers need to complete setting and printing the entire level examination papers on time.
2) Teachers need to rush to complete all examinable topics and units.
3) Teachers need to give out as many practices as possible.
4)Teachers need to return all papers for revision but there are just too many to finish marking.
5) Teachers worry that pupils may not have absorbed all that they need for exams during lessons
6) Teachers worry that pupils may be careless during examinations
7) Teacher worry if they can complete marking the entire level examination papers and return for checking before school closes.

When the papers are marked and returned:
1) Teachers worry if there are marking errors and parents complain.
2) When pupils fail, teachers feel sad and demoralised, as if they had not done their job well.
3) When pupils fail, teachers worry about parents complain again
4) When pupils don't do as well as other classes, teachers worry again about parents discussing and complaining again.
5) When pupils don't do as well as other classes, teachers have to answer to principal too.... so scary...
6)When pupils don't do well, teacher worry that pupils may give up on the subject.

How come parents don't praise teachers when children do well but complain when their children do badly?

Joys of examination... (are there any?)
There will only be rejoicing when all pupils do well for examinations but with our VERY difficult paper, only a small number will rejoice.

Second Day of Chinese New Year

Getting ready for the long journey ahead!

Forgot to take picture at the 1st 2 houses.
Pit-stop 1 : Da Yi Ma's house (lunch there)
Pit-stop 2: Wei Hua's house (long distance cousin and also ex-classmate)

Pit-stop 3: Grand Aunty's House
I'm greeting my grand auntie.
My whole extended family goes visiting all the more distance family members every year. (abt 23 of us travelling together by lorry, cars and van.)

Pit-stop 4: Aunty Lilian's /John's House

Their family uses a high tech door lock that works by finger print. Cool isn't it?

Pit-stop 5: My house
Look at the number of cars blocking the road outside. From the picture you can see the cars and the lorry... My unfriendly neighbour even scolded my uncle for parking infront of her house.. so selfish.. just a while also cannot....

Pit- stop 6: Eldest uncle's house
We had our dinner there. Food was delicious. Black Jack and mahjong started along with dinner and will last through the night. Don't worry, the amount gambled is small and kids can join in. I left early. Need to sleep. Don't think I can survive the night there.

Praise to God!

Glory to God! HE has lifted my spirits... now .......for me health!

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day.. I'm sure many people would be reading what I've done for V-day. The unfortunate truth is that there is no plan. I've not even bought a present for my boyfriend. Haha... what a lousy girlfriend..

Of late, I've been too unwell to cope with my work yet I've been pushing myself a little too hard... Not much choice, my pupils' examinations would start soon after Chinese New Year....

Oh no.... I'm not even ready for Chinese New Year.... Praise be to God who will create wonders so that all would fall into place this year.... and solve my problem of lack of time.

It's time for celebration but.......

Today, my junior girls won the game against Kranji, making them the champions for the West zone basketball competition. It was a very close game with the score of 32 - 26.

Kranji's players were very good and they would proof to be an even more formidable opponent at the Nationals, when we meet again. I only hope that my girls will not take this victory for granted and brace themselves up for tougher games ahead.

It was a tiring day and my cough is coming back from the shouting. Though it is time for celebration but my heart is down. As I entered my dark and quiet house, loneliness filled the air. The lights doesn't bring me comfort and no one was there to share this joy.

Why do I felt a sense of lost. Perhaps because I'm ill and not really myself. Perhaps I'm sick at heart and really lost something precious... If only, if only...... if only what? I do not know.

Met with a slight accident

I live in a private housing estate where cars are park in an unorderly manner. As I was cycling to work today, a car reversed into me. It was blocked by another car which was parked next to it.

I'm blessed as the car was relatively slow in reversing. I tried to stop when I saw it but I was too near and too late. My left leg was sandwiched between the car and my pedal as I had I imediately placed my foot on the ground to keep myself from falling over. The result is an awful bruise on my calf which hurts whenever I exert the muscles there. Praise God, I still have my leg in one piece. It could have been worst if I had been throw off the bicycle.

The driver reprimanded me for going too fast... which I wasn't and could not due to a speed phobia I've developed after an old accident. I didn't want to argue with him because I was still in the state of shock and needed to get to school. I just nodded and pray I could get out of his nonsensical lecture quickly.(He was more like trying to blame me instead of himself for the accident). In my opinion, it was any of our fault but the fault of the that car parked in an unsuitatble spot resulting in the view being blocked. The uncle could have parked his car with the boot into his house instead of bonnet in to help avoided this accident.

Anyway, thankfully he didn't make me pay damages to his car.. I didn't really see any but I expect there would be a scratch. If he had made me pay, I would have insisted on medical coverage for my painful bruise. Since we are sort of neighbours, I'll let the matter rest as long as he doesn't pursue it.

Sickly me...

Have not had the time to blog... Finally today I can blog. Today, I'm on MC. Really unwell. Sore throat, headache, body aches and fever. Doctor says the body aches are due to the fever...

Doctor gave me two days MC. I told him I need to get back to work tomorrow. He says I've to rest or I won't recover. Heck the doctor, I'm going to work.

Don't have much time left before their CA examinations. I always have Saturday to rest. Can't rest on Sunday as I'll be serving in Church again. Need not fear, God will make me well enough to serve Him.

Didn't do much at home.... Tried to do some marking but realised that I couldn't concentrate due to the headache. Pardon me if I don't make much sense today... my head is spinning...

Jesus, my saviour, just say the words and I'm healed.

Little ones, I'm proud of you!

Yesterday, my basketball team won CCK team! Praise and Glory to the LORD!

After suffering a harsh defeat when we played them last year, the game started with unsurity. I've not seen their present players before this game and did not know if my girls were ready to face such a reputated opponent.

It was extremely pleasing to see the coach's frustration when he arrived seeing that his girls had suffered a score of 0 for the whole of 1st quarter. I must admit that I pitied his players as he shouted harshly at them.

Then again, I was shouting at my players too. (guilty... =p) I was upset that they were not playing like how they normally do. Anyway, we finally won the game with a score of 39-16.

Pin Xiu, captain of the team had the honour of announcing this good news to the school. Results of the next game would be annouced by Cassandra.

They would be playing against Yew Tee Pri Sch at Kranji Pri Sch next Tues. May God Be with them.

Blessed are those who are loved!

Blessed are those who are loved... Why did I choose that as my title?

Let's talk about love. I know as I'm writing this, some of my young readers would have gone YEEE.. and others may open their eyes wider with interest.

Love comes in many forms. To me the greatest Love of all is the Love from God. Who gave Jesus to die for My sins! (and your, of course) Followed by the love from our parents, family and friends.

Love is about giving. Jesus gave, your parents gave and you gave when you found your special someone. When you are in love, you give with joy and recieve in joy. (try that during Valentine's Day which is coming, 14 Feb)

Come before the Lord and recieve His Love and His Blessings for He gives willingly and joyfully to those who wants to recieve.

Blessed are those who are loved.

.... and I'm deeply loved.
