At Aifang's Place during CNY

These were some pictures taken when Ai Fang invited us over to her house during Chinese New Year. Had fun meeting up with the girls and their little ones again. Believe it or not, some of the pictures were taken by 2 years old Julius, Amy's son.

Another victory!

The basketball junior girls won the match again Gan Eng Seng Primary yesterday.

Gan Eng Seng Primary girls team arrived late. At first we thought it was their fault and there should be a walk over according to the rules. However, it seemed that the fault doesn't lie with the school but the organisers. The organisers failed to inform them about the change in fixtures and they did not receive the updated version. Hence they were late.

In the end we played the game about 45 minutes later than the time stated in the fixtures. We were blessed with a 66 - 9 win.

Unfortunately, Madeline twisted her ankle. Now I'm left with Shanthinee and Crystal as centre. Shanthinee played well yesterday but she cannot play in 2nd quarter due to a subsitution rule. So, I fielded Crystal as centre... I was worried she might not be competition ready. However, she did her best and proved to be helpful to the team.

Cassandra was in a bad mood as she felt that the referee had done injustice done to her as she was not guilty of the fouls. In my opinion, the referee was fair. She did foul but unknowingly. However, I'm pleased that she controlled herself and didn't throw her temper at the referee. She is also the top scorer for that game. Way to go girl!

Another person who didn't have as good a game was Pin Xiu. She missed so many underbasket shots. I really wonder what is wrong with her yesterday. Blessedly, her defence was still as good and towards the 3rd half, she managed to get a hang of the shooting. It was then she played so well I was impressed. However, she was also in foul trouble like Cassandra. I would worry if both my captain and vice captain foul out.

I'm most pleased with Jiaying's and Shangmei's performance yesterday. They defended well and attacked well.

Overall. I'm pleased. They are a team to be proud of!

The champion trophy

Champion Trophy presented to the school
Champion Trophy presented to the school

Today, during assembly, the basketball girls received their trophies from Mr Reyes for the West Zone tournament. In reality, they had received their trophies last Thursday. However, I collected it back so that the pupils in school can witness the fruits of their labour when they received it on stage during assembly today.

Going to the semi-finals!

Yesterday, was the inter-minstry 3 on 3 basketball competition for the woman's team. Today I wake up with body aches all over because of the games. Think I better get into shape quickly.

Anway, MOE (Ministry of Education) send 4 teams. Team1, Team2 and Team3 made it to the semi-finals. Yeah! Unfortunately Team4 lost to Team 3 and MHA (Ministry of Home Affairs), hence didn't make it to the semi finals. (A team is knocked out after losing 2 games)

Fortunately for my team (MOE Team1), we weren't in the same grouping as Team1 which had won both MOE team3 and team4. However, we met MHA team2 which proved to be as much as a challenged. The score was held at 2-1, with my team losing by 1, for quite a while. It was a fierce game, result in my little finger being bruised. Finally, we managed to re-take the lead and win that game.

I will be expecting to meet MHA team1 in the finals. MHA team1 will definitely be a team worth playing against! I'm looking forward to playing them 17th March.
